I started out a little sore but ran a good 18 miles yesterday. The towpath was full of hikers, cross country teams and families. Sometimes when I am experiencing a little doubt about my pace, my feet or my sanity, I focus on the people that I pass along with way. During my first marathon training, I was so inspired by Endure to Cure, the charity team that I had joined. The thought of children battling cancer gave me the energy and commitment that I needed. Now, I try to spread smiles while I train. Enjoying each hello or wave along the path make me stronger and renews my love of the run.
